In French Je Suis Belle means "I am Beautiful" but for two designers on the forefront of Budapest scene it is more of an expression that fits the profile of a young and modern woman. To Dalma Dévényi and Tibi Kiss Je Suis Belle epitomizes a concept. These three words refer to a woman's sense of Self, her state of Being and to her Aesthetic. They design apparels to meet an ever-growing demand that seeks gracefulness and playfulness as an identity for one’s femininity, meanwhile reinforce a sense of self confidence, desire for originality, taste for quality as parts of one’s everyday lifestyle.
Je Suis Belle was established in 2005 by two young fashion design students who had met while attending the Moholy-Nagy University of Applied Arts in Budapest, Hungary and has been run as a full time business ever since. Their style is geared toward a casual, elegant and playful girl. Drawing ideas from historical trends and reapplying them to fit the lifestyle of today's woman, Dalma & Tibi are constantly reimagining style as a deconstruction of past stereotypes to create an image that will lead fashion towards a progressive frontier, paying special attention to harmonizing forms style and lines. Their clothing line is designed for the woman who is self-assured, independent, and proud of her individual image; the woman who appreciates the expression of originality in her everyday life.
Je Suis Belle combines pure quiet elegance with the freedom of playful self confidence. With its significantly fresh and innovative cuts, hemming and tailoring, Je Suis Belle breaks and rearranges cliches to produce apparels of classic originality.
The designer team won first prize at the 2005 ARC billboard competition in the category of "I Love Hungary" and scored first place at the Hans Chrstian Andersen International Fashion Designer Show and Competition, held in Denmark, 2005. In 2007 Dalma & Tibi were named top young fashion designers of the year in Hungary.
